iOS 16

iPadOS 16

The upcoming iPad update, iPadOS 16, combines the best features from iOS 16 and the upcoming macOS update. With impressive upgrades to mail, weather, and productivity tools, there’s never been a better time to become an iPad user.

One of the biggest announcements is the new collaboration feature. This allows you to start collaborating within Pages, Messages, and Notes. Apple also gave us a sneak peek of a new app called Freeform, which is a live collaboration board perfect for brainstorming sessions.

Once again, that’s only a taste of what’s to come. If you want to learn more, here are all the iPadOS 16 features we’re most excited about.

watchOS 9

Apple announced several new features for Apple Watch users. There are also some new health features coming, including atrial fibrillation notifications and improved workout metrics.

macOS Ventura

It’s official, the latest macOS is here, and it’s called Ventura. One of the primary features of Ventura is Stage Manager, which helps you focus on your main app while keeping other apps you’re using in a new sidebar. This makes for for seamless transitioning between tasks. Changes are also coming to Mail, including the ability to un-send and schedule emails—a long-awaited feature indeed.

The M2 Apple Silicon Chip

In addition, Apple announced a new processor at WWDC 2022: the M2 processor. The M2 processor takes the capabilities of the M1 Apple silicon chip even further by increasing performance and decreasing power consumption. Apple also added two more cores to its GPU, increasing performance by 25% while only using half as much power as the previous GPU.

A new Apple silicon chip is only worth something if there’s a Mac you can get it with, of course. So that wasn’t the end of Apple’s announcements…

The M2 MacBook Air

The newest MacBook Air features some of the biggest changes to the MacBook Air design since its initial release. The MacBook Air no longer has its classic wedge shape, it now looks like a thinner MacBook Pro. It also features a display that’s 25% brighter than the previous model. And there is also a new 1080p camera that has twice the resolution.

To back it all up, the MacBook Air comes packing Apple’s brand new M2 Apple silicon chip. Make sure you learn about all the new M2 MacBook Air features.

The M2 MacBook Pro

While not as big a reveal as the M2 MacBook Air, Apple also refreshed its 13-inch MacBook Pro line to include the M2 Apple silicon chip. This is the much-maligned Touch Bar MacBook, and the only real update it’s getting now is a new processor. Still, it’s better than nothing, and you’ve always got the M1 Pro MacBook Pro if you want something more.

When Can You Get the Latest Apple Updates and Products?

If you have a supported device, you should be able to install the latest Apple updates in fall this year. These updates haven’t been beta tested yet, so that will need to happen first—you can even take part in the beta testing if you want. The new MacBook Air will be available in July.

WWDC gave us a lot of new information, and we’re sure there will continue to be more developments as the world gets a chance to digest these announcements.
